Another significant chatbot update has been released by the AI platform. With its new memory function, which allows the chatbot to recall our conversations, GPT is ready to completely transform communication.
ChatGPT Will Now Remind Your Previous Conversations
The artificial intelligence company wrote on its official blog post, “We’re using ChatGPT to test memory. You may avoid repeating information and improve the quality of your future interactions by keeping track of the topics you bring up in all of your chats. The memory of ChatGPT belongs to you. You can ask it to recall things, give it explicit instructions to remember things, and use settings or discussion to directly tell it to forget things. Alternatively, you can completely deactivate it. This week, we’re testing it out with a small group of ChatGPT Plus and free users to see how helpful it is. Soon, we will discuss our plans for a wider rollout.”
Additionally, ChatGPT will allow users to choose which chats to have remembered. The chatbot can be trained to forget specific interactions or to remember what the user wants it to learn. The settings options allow you to control this. OpenAI claims that doing this will protect user privacy and give them control over their data.
Currently, testing is being done on the memory functionality. According to the blog post, the feature is available to a limited number of AI chatbot Plus and free customers. OpenAI does, however, want to make this feature available to further users.
How it’s Work?
As per the developers of ChatGPT, the chatbot keeps improving its memory through human interactions. More customized and individualized responses are anticipated from this feature. To avoid ChatGPT remembering the content of their discussions, users can select for “temporary chat” By doing this, user privacy will be protected without significantly affecting model training.
For example, You mention that your kid likes jellyfish. It suggests a jellyfish with a party hat when you ask ChatGPT to design her birthday card.
